The Speedtail is a hypercar with an extremely efficient design. Its smooth curved exterior provides superior aerodynamics, which enables the car to reach great speeds.

1992 McLaren F1

While talking about supercars, a list is incomplete without the legendary McLaren F1. The F1 is a supercar that revolutionized the process of designing and building high-performance vehicles. This supercar concept was conceived by Gordon Murray, who persuaded Ron Dennis to gather a team to build this iconic performance machine.

When it comes to speed and power output of the car, the F1 is powered by a BMW 6.0-liter S70/2 V12 that produces 618 bhp at 650 Nm of torque. Its transmission setup is a 6-speed manual that was configured to deliver quick shifts. The McLaren F1 0-60 mph time was recorded at 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 241 mph (386 km/h). It had set the record for the world’s fastest production car in 1998 beating the Jaguar XJ220.

The McLaren F1 was the first car to carry carbon-fiber components in its body panels and understructure. It was McLaren’s aim to build a lightweight supercar capable of reaching great speeds and delivering superior handling. They succeeded in their mission and went on to create a revolution in the high-performance vehicle manufacturing industry. Therefore, even today, McLaren F1 is considered one among the greatest cars ever produced. With only 106 models manufactured, the car is extremely rare and fetches a substantial value in the collectors market.
